Give Claude your sets, not just your workout minutes
Published November 3, 2026
Claude's Apple Health access reads a workout's type, duration, heart rate and calories, so a lifting session reaches it as minutes, not sets. Log the sets on Apple Watch in RIRLift, then send your training to Claude from the app, or with Pro connect Claude so it reads every weight, rep and rep left whenever you ask.

What Claude needs to talk about your lifting
-
Sets logged on the wrist
On the Watch, each set is weight, reps and how many you had left, prefilled from last time and confirmed with a tap. That's the record a question about your squat has to start from.
-
Apple Health keeps the session
RIRLift saves each finished session to Apple Health as Traditional Strength Training, with its time and the heart rate and calories your Watch recorded. That's the part Claude's Health access sees; the sets stay in RIRLift.
-
Connect from Claude's directory, with Pro
Add RIRLift from Claude's Connectors Directory in a browser on your phone or computer, then enter the code the app shows. Claude reads your training when you ask. Connect Claude has the steps.
-
Or send one question, free
In Ask your AI, pick Analyze my training, Ask about one lift, Draft me a program or Check my recovery, and share it to the Claude app. It gets the last few weeks of your training for that question.
-
Drafts wait for your yes
A program Claude drafts through the connection arrives under Ask your AI for review. Nothing changes until you import it; then it runs from the Watch.
Questions Claude answers from Watch-logged sets
How did my squat do this block?
Eight weeks of legs twice a week, logged on the Watch. Pro, Claude connected; you ask on your phone on the train home.
| Exercise | You logged | Next session | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barbell Back Squat | 225 lb, 8 / 8 / 8 reps, 2 left | 230 lb × 6 | Every set at the top of 6–8: one step up, reps back to 6. Claude reads the weekly estimated-max trend this came from. |
| Leg Extension | 120 lb, 15 / 14 / 12 reps, 1 left (target 12) | 120 lb × 13 | The weakest set hit today's target. Same stack, one more rep. |
Claude's answer was about your squat, with your numbers, not your minutes in the gym.
Are my shoulders getting enough work?
Upper days with cable work, logged on the Watch, Claude connected. You ask whether side delts are falling behind.
| Exercise | You logged | Next session | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cable Lateral Raise | 20 lb, 14 / 13 / 12 reps, 2 left (target 12) | 20 lb × 13 | The weakest set hit today's target of 12. Same stack, one more rep. |
| Seated Cable Row | 140 lb, 12 / 12 / 12 reps, 1 left | 150 lb × 8 | Every set at the top of 8–12: one step up the stack, reps back to 8. |
Claude reads your hard sets per muscle per week from the log, so the answer starts from a count, not a feeling.
Analyze my training, on the free tier
Three weeks of a dumbbell-and-machine plan. No Pro: you tap Analyze my training on the iPhone and share it to Claude.
| Exercise | You logged | Next session | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat Dumbbell Press | 55 lb, 10 / 9 / 8 reps, nothing left (target 9) | 55 lb × 9 | The weakest set fell short of 9, so weight and target both stay. |
| Lying Leg Curl | 80 lb, 12 / 12 / 12 reps, 2 left | 90 lb × 8 | Top of 8–12 on every set: one step up on the stack, reps back to 8. |
Claude got the last few weeks for that one question. RIRLift set the weights above either way.

Ask about one lift
Use Ask about one lift so the answer stays on that exercise. With Pro, Claude gets every set you've logged as a file, not just the last few weeks.
-
Keep your reps-left calls consistent
Claude can see how your reps left tracked against your targets. Judge them the same way every set and that comparison means something.
-
Fix unmatched exercises before importing
If a Claude draft names an exercise RIRLift can't match, choose the right one in the review, then import. The Watch sets the weights from your first set.
-
Disconnect any time
Open Connect your AI and tap Disconnect. Claude loses access and RIRLift deletes the training data it uploaded.
Questions
Can Claude read my workouts from Apple Health?
Yes, in beta for Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the US: a workout's type, duration, distance, heart rate and calories. Sets, weights and reps aren't part of it, so a lifting session reads as time and heart rate.
How do I give Claude my sets and reps?
Log them on Apple Watch or iPhone in RIRLift. Then share a question to Claude from Ask your AI for free, or connect Claude with Pro so it reads your training whenever you ask.
What does a connected Claude receive from RIRLift?
A summary of your training when you ask: volume per muscle, strength trends, effort accuracy, recovery, routines and recent workouts with loads, reps and reps left. Never your heart rate or anything from Apple Health, your name, email or private notes.
Can Claude change my program?
No. A program it drafts arrives in RIRLift for you to review, and nothing changes until you import it.
Does the connection work from my phone?
Yes. Add RIRLift from Claude's directory in a browser on your phone or computer, and enter the pairing code from the app.
